Carpenter started training Karate & Judo at age 5 and immediately discovered a passion for martial arts & competition winning many regional & national championships.  At age 11 he began training & competing domestically & internationally in BJJ, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Boxing & Pankration.  His notable accolades as a juvenile demonstrate his prowess as a multiple time world champion in several martial arts disciplines.

Carpenter has notable amateur MMA submission wins in Pankration over Aaron Pico ( via kneebar ) & Christian Lee ( Triangle ).   Carpenter & Pico competed as teammates in the 2010 European Golden Cup in Kharkiv Ukraine where they both took gold medals in Pankration and Grappling leading to a 3rd place finish for Team USA in Pankration behind Ukraine & Russia.  In 2011 Carpenter competed in the FILA Cadet/Jr World Championships in Tamasi Hungary earning 3 World Titles in 3 days winning 15/15 matches & submitting 13/15 opponents.  In 2013 Carpenter competed on the US National Team for the IMMAF Cadet/Jr World Championships in Split Croatia with Christian & Angela Lee, taking World Championships again in BJJ/Grappling & Pankration.
Carpenter turned pro in 2019 training under John Crouch at the MMA Lab & he continues to train BJJ under Andre Maracaba where he holds the rank of Brown Belt.  In 2021 he was nominated for the LFA KO, Submission & Fighter of the year winning Submission of the year for his 45 sec kneebar finish on Nick Clem at LFA 108.   His viral 13 sec headkick KO of Rodney Kealohi at LFA 119 is his 2nd 1st round headkick KO as pro.
