Jose “Junior” Aldo stormed to the top of the Featherweight Buzz Rankings in November in much the same way that he won the WEC divisional championship against Mike Brown on November 18th. Aldo moved ahead of the most recognizable face of the division, Urijah Faber, to take the top ranking. Several other WEC featherweights also made big moves, including Jeff Curran, Jens Pulver, Rafael Assuncao, and the aforementioned Mike Brown. Dropping out of the top spots were many of the Japanese competitors that had been active with fights in October. Full Top 20 rankings are below.
Tapology’s Buzz Rankings measure fan interest in individual MMA fighters based on online searches and pageviews for information about each athlete. The rankings are not a measure of a fighter’s skill or competitive standing within their division, but rather how much activity or “buzz” surrounds them (positive or negative).
