Propped up by the buzz surrounding its Fedor vs Rogers CBS primetime event, Strikeforce drew increased fan interest in October as compared to September. Strikeforce’s fighters collectively drew 11.4% of all fan activity, up 2.5 points from September, slightly eating away at the huge lead held by the UFC. With the UFC’s star-laden roster still maintaining over 60% of all fan interest, however, it is still easily the biggest game in MMA.
The hugely publicized Strikeforce heavyweight clash on network television no doubt fueled Stikeforce’s increased fan interest in October, and is likely to increase even further when the November results are available.
Japanese organizations Dream and Sengoku are still only a small blip on the radar of American MMA fans, collectively generating 6% of interest in October. The WEC was even further behind, with its roster of fighters generating just a 2% share of fan activity.
